BrowniesThe St Clement's Branch Church Brownies have been active in our parish since 1959. They meet each week during school term time on Tuesday evenings from 6.30pm until 8pm and enjoy many exciting and interesting activities. The Brownie Unit is open for new recruits and Brown Owl would be pleased to hear from any parent whose daughter may be interested in joining. The Brownies have also earned many badges this year and have many things planned for the year ahead. Before Christmas we will be holding a Go Pink evening to fundraise for Breast cancer research and celebrate Christmas with lots of crafts and our annual party. It has been an amazing year celebrating our 100 years of Girlguiding. We have taken part in many events during the year. This year’s Brownie holiday was spent with other Brownies and Guides from Urmston where we may have got a little wet due to the weather, but we all had a wonderful time during our trip to the local farm, having a go at archery and experiencing a night camping in a tent.
We also took part in the Big Brownie Takeover at the Red House Maize Maze; thankfully we didn’t get lost in the maze and found our way out to enjoy the many activities planned for the day. All the Brownies enjoyed their tractor ride sat in a barrel where they got a little muddy.
Our centenary year ended with a vision celebration at the Trafford Centre where we all renewed our guiding promise and one Brownie took her promise for the first time.
